Website Design

Introduction - Website Design

I got my start as a graphical artist working on website for smaller companies. As my skills and knowledge increased I found myself in situations where I needed to write code and program websites as well as design them. Over the years I have learned how to write and understand HTML, CSS, PHP, XML, and JavaScript. I have also worked with ASP, (DOT).NET, and I have used many website development applications such as Microsoft Visual Studio, Dreamweaver, FrontPage, and of course good ole notepad for straight hand coding.

Below are some samples of my website designs. Links are also provided to be able to view the live sites.

Sportbikes.com

Sportbikes.comA year ago I was asked by the owner of Sportbikes.com to come and re-engineer the website from a forum based website to a more of an online magazine to help grow the sportbike community. 1 year later the site received national recognition for my use and design of the new website using Ektron’s powerful CMS system. Sportbikes.com won Ektron’s “All-Star Award” for best online community website. As a result I was asked along with the owner of Sportbikes.com to come to Boston, MA to speak at their national conference and receive the award.

EspressoCoffeeBiz.com

Combustiondown.com Espressocoffeebiz.com was a small ecommerce website I developed for a regional distributor of coffee related products. Their goal was to set up a simple site that customers could reorder their coffee supplies from. Many restaurants, hotels, and resorts use the site. For this project I used Miva's Merchant ecommerce platform and integrated the design into their page templates.
